Why did Romans embrace Christianity ??

What was the main reason behind it ??

I think there must not have been existence of Christianity if it wouldn't have been adopted by Romans.

Constanite chose a insgnificant religion name.
The Emperor Constantine needed a unifying force to bring together an empire which was disintegrating.

Yep, that's my idea too BlueDart, Constantine needed Christianity to unify his empire. as for Christianity not existing unless Romans adopted it, well that's arguable... after all Romans tried everything to get rid of Christians
