What does everyone look for when they choose a church to attend?

Thumbs up what to look for

Hi,
First I would make sure it has Sabbath worship on the seventh day (sundown friday to sundown saturday) and not the first. Also make sure it's not pagan like if they have idols that people kneel down to or have a 'all seeing eye' above on the ceiling, or especially do not go again if the pastor and majority of people try telling you against GODs word - saying something like you don't have to keep the Commandments of GOD really it's all about love and faith (..faith without works is dead.., ..those who do the will of My Father.., ..here is the patients of the saints, those who keep the Commandments of GOD and have the faith of Jesus Christ..) If they don't speak according to the law and the testimony that's because there is no light in them. Those who say that they love GOD and don't keep GODs commandment is a liar and the truth is not in him.

The true Sabbath would be probably a first on my list if I have one. Definately not a Catholic church (I think some have masses on the seventh day). Maybe check the church out, hear what the pastor says. Make sure it lines up with the word of GOD (if you don't think so than ask him later to explain or show you in the scripture - though try not to listen to any facy stories - just the truth as it is in GODs word, be careful what you hear and how you hear it though).

If you go by this you may find mostly if not only Seventh day Adventist churches. I've been to different buildings and if GOD will that I go to church building it will likely be an Seventh Day Adventist one.

First thing to know is that the vicinity of the church. How far it is from your home? So that everyday prayer can be done there without any fail.

Arrow The body of Christ is the Church

The Church is the remnant of GOD, the body of Christ.

Romans 9:27
Isaiah also cries out concerning Israel: “ Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, The remnant will be saved.

Romans 11:5
Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

---

Revelation 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Prayer can be done outside, in someones home, in the car or bus, on a plane, swimming, running, horseback riding, kneeling, standing, etc.

The most important thing is the word of GOD, people are suppose to be learning about the truth but many times they are not.

It's not about how fast you can get to a building ( and then when you get there you might not be getting your spiritual needs me - the truth, help to get through trials - instead people trying to tell you you don't have to follow what the Holy Scriptures say because of "this" or because of "that", so it might actually been better if someone had not endtered a building called a church at all.). We need help to discern between the truth and lies. We need the Holy Scriptures, not in the 'new versions' of the Bible but maybe the old Kings James version or if you can read Greek and Hebrew, maybe in that version. We need truth so badly in the body of Christ.

Scriptures gotten from BibleGateway.com:

Isaiah 8:20
To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Isaiah 8:16
Bind up the testimony, Seal the law among my disciples.

Isaiah 42:16
I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.

---
Malachi 2:14-16 (New King James Version)
14 Yet you say, “For what reason?”
Because the LORD has been witness
Between you and the wife of your youth,
With whom you have dealt treacherously;
Yet she is your companion
And your wife by covenant.
15 But did He not make them one,
Having a remnant of the Spirit?
And why one?
He seeks godly offspring.
Therefore take heed to your spirit,
And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.
16 “ For the LORD God of Israel says
That He hates divorce,
For it covers one’s garment with violence,”
Says the LORD of hosts.

“ Therefore take heed to your spirit,
That you do not deal treacherously.”

----
1 Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame

--
2 Timothy 3:15-17 (New King James Version)
15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The most important thing u must find a in a new church is whether it is a geniune church or no.And whether they worship only God ie Jesus Christ or someone else too.Its not easy to detect such things though

Default How to tell a false Christian from a true Christian

Out of the abundance of ones heart the mouth speaketh .

The tree is known by its fruit .

If the person speaks words that line up with the Word of GOD and speak truth - that sounds like a true person of GOD.

If it doesn't, it's not the Word of GOD, the Old nor New Testament that's wrong, it's the person who has falseness in them.

Many people might sound sweet in there tone, but listen to the violence that might come out of there mouth...

Or listen for truth, lies, things that line up with the Word of GOD or don't.

We are suppose to test the spirits to see whether they be of GOD.

Don't give heed to any little voice telling you - hey you did this - you did wrong - don't judge.

We should have judgement, knowing good and evil knowing how to hear or discern falseness or a falsechristian

We should think maybe *if this persons words are not lining up with GODs word than I shouldn't listen to them, NOR take advice from them in any way no matter what*

Get advice from people who have wisdom. People who hate pride, the evil way, lies, people ----and they must speak the truth---line up with the Word of GOD always. If you hear them not line up with the Word of GOD because of scriptures maybe ask them about it, pray to GOD for guidence that your not misinterpretting it wrong. Only GOD can truely lead us into all truth by HIS Holy Spirit He can do this.

Once I interpretted things completely different. It was because I was being guided by an evil spirit, but that has changed since GOD has called me out of the false church.

Scriptures following gotten from BibleGateway.com ::

Revelation 18 (King James Version)

Revelation 18
1And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

4And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

6Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

7How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

8Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.

9And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

10Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

11And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

12The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

13And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

14And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

15The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

16And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

17For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

19And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

20Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.

21And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

22And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

24And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
