Smile Seeking him....

Today was a wonderful day in the Kingdom of heaven and here on earth. I had a revelation of sorts. Something that changed me. I realize that as a worship leader we must be totally above reproach and lift others up.

I have been really down on myself lately for feeling glum, and worrying about problems and trials that I have in my life. It took the first five chapters of James to make me realize that I need to be content with what I have, and take good care of what God has given me.

I think about a couple that attends my church that had their lives changed due to an accident, now the husband cannot walk. Here I am complaining about the little things. I should be happy about what I have....

I look forward to becoming closer to Christ in ways that I cannot imagine.

Phil

Some times in the worldly pursuits we forget what we are here for. WE get entangled in the materialistic desires. It happens with every body so you dont have to feel guilty about it as we all are humans, sons and daughters of God Jesus.
Better if we can figure out the endless desires in our mind are not possible to be extinguished through attaining those desires but through act of self satiation.

This is a great lesson to take, and I'm glad you've been able to pull it from the events in your life. Religion is truly about this; finding ways to make sense of your life and make it more enjoyable. I'm glad you're well on the road to accomplishing it

I think I am in a similiar spot, and will be looking to James for wisdom
Anyone know of a good resource for online scriptures, that I can look up the first five chapters of James, without having to have a bible in my hand?

Very important, Phil, to keep our focus on "the sunny side of life, keep on the sunny side"
It's not easy, but if we picture someone in worse shape, and pray for them, then maybe we can find positives in our own life to build upon
